Civil Opportunities in a
European Hungary conference
This is the opening conference of the event taking place on 28
September from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm in the building of the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences.
Local currency, changing money,
credit cards
The local currency is the Hungarian Forint. 1 euro is appr. HUF 250.
Travellers’ cheques and foreign cash can be exchanged at banks and
exchange offices. International credit cards are accepted in most
shops, hotels and restaurants.
Opening hours and public holidays
Banks are open from 8 am to 3 pm (4 pm), closed at weekends. Shops are
open from 10 am to 6 pm (to 9 pm in shopping centres) on weekdays and
from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays (to 9 pm in shopping centres). Shopping
centres are open on Sundays.

The international dialling code for Hungary is 36. If you wish to make
